This was done as a Christmas gift for my dad. He's been a fan of Superman since he was a kid, so this just kinda seemed like a natural choice.
Basically, I decided to do a straight-forward recreation of Action Comics #1 (the first appearance of Superman). But I was working with a specific frame size, so I scrunched the title a bit. Other than that, I tried to get everything as accurate as possible. But since paint isn't my medium of choice (as you can tell from this scan, I'm not very good with it), some of the image suffers as a result. Still, my dad was stoked by it, so that's all I need
